A key government objective is to increase the number of patients who have the opportunity to participate in research and to enhance the nation’s attractiveness as a host for research. Underpinning this is a requirement for trusts to improve their performance in approving research studies (giving NHS permission) and recruiting participants to these studies.
Please see the links below for a list of studies where the performance has been measured in terms of the length of time taken for NHS approval to be granted and the date when the first participant was recruited to the study. Information will also be provided in the future on trials that have finished, highlighting whether the research study achieved its recruitment target.
