Our performance

Performance in Initiating and Delivering Clinical Research (PID) is a relatively new initiative by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). As part of this initiative, Leicester’s Hospitals is contractually obliged to report on the performance of every clinical trial. This includes providing information on the time it takes from the receipt of a valid research application, to the recruitment of the first patient into a trial against the 70-day benchmark and time and target metrics.

In addition, the Department of Health has sought to achieve a transparency commitment to this exercise. Therefore, we are required to publish quarterly submitted information and make it publicly accessible on this website. Starting from the first quarter data of 2013, this information will continue to be published after the end of each quarter before the NIHRs deadline.
