GDPR for researchers

The University of Leicester, University Hospitals of Leicester, Leicester Clinical Trials Unit and the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre have been working together to understand the implications of GDPR and the new Data Protection Bill when enacted to ensure a consistent approach for researchers in the Leicester area.

We have created a helpful website that you can refer to for information and links useful for those processing information relating to people for research purposes:

Operational Capability Statement:

National guidelines have been produced by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) which have been adopted entirely and enhanced by Leicester’s Hospitals.

Part of the national guidelines or Research Support Services (RSS) is an Operational Capability Statement. This document details the relevant individuals and departments involved in certain aspects of research governance. The Research and Innovation team have created an Operational Capability Statement for our Trust.
