At Leicester’s Hospitals we are fortunate to have an extremely strong research team in each of the areas that we cover in our CMG.
We are extremely proud that Leicester has recently received Cancer Research UK (CRUK) status of which, our HOPE Unit is an instrumental factor in delivering CRUK trials. The Leicester Centre is a partnership between the University of Leicester and Leicester’s Hospitals, working with the Medical Research Council (MRC) Toxicology Unit at the University and the locally-based charity Hope Against Cancer. The Centre is based across the University and the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
As well as this, our Experimental Cancer Medicine Research Centre is continuing to produce significant findings.
We also have a breadth of research occurring in our Gastroenterology teams as well as research being conducted within the Surgery specialty. Finally, our Urology and Non-Malignant Haematology teams are consistently developing their research portfolios.
Our remit is wide-ranging, forward-thinking and patient focused.
